June 7, 2013 @ No Comments

2013 marks the 18th Annual National Sporting Weekend in Albury.

The first National Sporting Weekend back in 1995 where around 30 members attended I’m sure does not feel that long ago for many of us. It is fantastic to see the weekend has now evolved into being a mini convention with numbers last year in the 70’s. Please come along and help the 2013 National Sporting weekend be one our most successful yet. Whether you want to fine tune skills for the World Dwarf Games and beyond, keen to try something new or just wanting to come along to catch up with friends old and new. The weekend is for you

As per previous years we will be staying at the Lake Hume Resort. Be sure to mention the SSPA when making your booking to receive a 10% discount.

Phone: (02) 6026 4444

Address: Riverina Highway
Albury NSW 2640

Survey Monkey Registration

All attendees (including children) must be registered to attend the weekend through the following  online survey:

Last year we introduced the survey monkey registration for the sporting component of the weekend. Following the success of this we will be using the survey monkey system for registration for the entire weekend. Everyone attending any part of the weekend must complete the survey. Important information included in survey:

  • ·           Friday Night Dinner
  • ·           Saturday Night Dinner Dance
  • ·           Sunday Lunch
  • ·           Sunday Night BBQ dinner
  • ·           Registration for sports

Being able to use the survey forms as a single point of contact for our information allows for the social aspects and the sporting components of the weekend to be organised prior to the weekend The weekend takes a great deal of organisation to go ahead, your support in submitting surveys on time is greatly appreciated.

Due to time constraints it is important that we offer a variety of sports that accommodate as many members as possible. As such, you will only be able to enter one of the following “Medal Winning Competitions”: Badminton Round Robin or Boccia Round Robin

*Please note that the badminton round robin will be doubles (any combination) please be sure to include your partner in the survey if you have already arranged to play with someone. Otherwise we will arrange your partner.

There will be both Social Badminton (Hit & Giggle) & Social Boccia (Come & Play) on offer if you are wishing to still partake in both sports but not at a competitive level.

Average height family members & friends are more than welcome to participate in all the sports activities. However, only short statured members will move onto the medal winning rounds.

Expenses for the weekend:

Sports: $10.00 per person, payable on arrival at the stadium – this contributes towards the significant stadium hire costs over the weekend.

Saturday Night Dinner: $45.00 per person

Sunday Lunch: $15.00 per person, $7.00 per child

Sunday Night Dinner: $10.00 per person, payable by Saturday night of the weekend.

Please note: the Kinross Woolshed (Saturday night dinner) requires full payment prior to our function therefore all payments must be received into the Victorian Branch SSPA account by Friday 31 May. Unfortunately we have no control over this therefore if payments are not received by this date, you will not be able to come along to the Saturday night dinner.
